About The Project

SPEAR 2.0 (project nr:101134771) is a collaborative partnership in sport that uses sport as a powerful tool to promote inclusion, tolerance, and resilience among young people. Building on the success of the first SPEAR project, this new edition strengthens efforts to prevent radicalisation, counter hate speech, and foster social cohesion through non-formal education and grassroots sport.

Funded by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme, SPEAR 2.0 unites partners from Italy, Poland, and North Macedonia to create a cross-border network of ambassadors who raise awareness, challenge intolerance, and build bridges between communities.

Project Objectives

  • Raise the awareness on battle against viciousness and intolerance.
  • Promote sport as a tool of Non-formal education to achieve social incorporation.
  • Promote value of inclusion and countering radicalisation.

Why SPEAR 2.0

Young people today face insecurity, identity struggles, and exposure to online hate narratives. This makes them vulnerable to radicalisation. Sport, however, offers a unique environment where teamwork, respect, and fair play prevail over prejudice and exclusion.

SPEAR 2.0 addresses this challenge by:

  • Empowering ambassadors to lead awareness campaigns both online and offline.
  • Raising awareness about violence and intolerance.
  • Promoting values of inclusion and diversity.
  • Using Education Through Sport (ETS) as a method to prevent radicalisation.

Target Groups

SPEAR 2.0 engages people at the heart of communities to create lasting change:

Communities – families, peers, and the wider public promoting tolerance and respect.

Young people – especially those at risk of exclusion or radicalisation.

Ambassadors & multipliers – youth leaders, trainers, and volunteers spreading positive messages.

Grassroots sport clubs – local teams and coaches using sport as a tool for inclusion.

NGOs & schools – educators and organisations supporting awareness and training.
